A Tribute to Three Masters!
This project involves three panels of different sizes. Each panel is to be
painted in the style of a famous master painter, as a tribute to their love of the ocean!
The panels will be displayed on different exterior walls on the beautiful Oceanfront hotel - Kentville
on the Ocean at Hampton Beach, NH. The paintings were selected for the beautiful colors and serenity they portray, and
their ability to enhance the locations surroundings and decor.
I chose three remarkable paintings by remarkable artists -
The Garden at Saint Adresse by Claude Monet, 1867

|
| to be painted 8' X 10' |
Breezing Up (A fair Breeze), by Winslow Homer, 1873-76

|
| to be painted 4' X 7' |
Seascape at Saint Maries, by Vincent Van Gogh, 1888

|
| to be painted 4' X 6' |
The paintings will be painted on M.D.O exterior plywood and the panels are framed
by a compound moulding that I have designed and constructed to mimic a museum quality frame. Upon completion the
frame will be painted with a metallic gold finish.
Hung on the exterior of the beautiful Kentville by the Ocean, the paintings will provide a museum like
aura to the exterior decor of the oceanside hotel.
I am painting all three panels at the same time... jumping from panel to panel, in an effort to dodge
any flack the weather may throw at me. Hot sun, strong wind or rain are all an enemy of the mural artist, but hey,.......
I'm tough..... look out mother nature!

Day 1

|
| The loose style of Van Gogh is quite satisfying! |
Day 2
In an effort to bring each painting to completion in a similar time frame, I jump from panel to panel.
Working on each panel when the sun is most forgiving - the largest panel (the Monet) gets very hot in late morning and
afternoon. the two smaller panels I have sheltered back to back under a tent, allowing me to paint on some panel...
despite what the weather might throw at me!
